Melancholy is a visual artist based in hong kong. His drawings record inner feelings and exotic stories. He does zines and the topics are usually strange but poetic. By using thin and dense lines, he tries to capture human’s vulnerability.

Flora always appears in Melancholy’s work. It is a kind of metaphor he uses to describe the subtle changes of emotion and life cycle. The characters in the drawings are mostly with the second pair of eyes, which symbolises how humans see things in two different ways, the reality and imagination.

During a short period of study in Bristol, melancholy got inspired by people’s way of living there. He found the love of doing zine and everything started from there. Not only by hand drawing, melancholy experiments methods to showcase his aesthetics using photography, bookbinding and other paper media. After his graduation, He started to collaborate with different artists in exhibitions and his work is brought to different art book fairs.
