ANGE MCCALMONT AT 1 LAN KWAI FONG
Ange McCalmont is an Irish contemporary artist based in Hong Kong. Her work takes inspiration from a street and pop art aesthetic, exploring notions of femininity and womanhood within an Asian cultural context using her signature style which incorporates hand drawn multiple layer stencils which are an integral part of her process.
Ange McCalmont
Taking inspiration stylistically from Wong Kar Wai’s ‘In the Mood for Love’ with its 60s feel, Ange’s mural for HKWALLS 2025, situated at 1 Lan Kwai Fong in Central, references its location where the film’s lovers pass on the stairwell, the parents kept an eye on their children’s future, and flower vendors sold flowers for every occasion including matters of the heart.
