Part A. Talk with Demonstration 講座及演示(30 mins)：

The role of the DJ in the creation of Hip Hop by DJ Fu 嘻哈文化的發展

In this presentation you will learn:

• How block parties, sound systems and DJ crews birthed Hip Hop.
• The DJ’s hunt for unknown records and the invention of the term ‘Break’.
• How DJs manipulated these Breaks using 2 copies of a record.
• How Breaks became a staple of Hip Hop & beyond with the invention of the sampler.

在這講座中你將瞭解：

• 街區派對、音響系統和 DJ 團隊如何催生嘻哈音樂。
• DJ 對未知唱片的追尋以及「歇段（Break）」一詞發明的奇緣。
• DJ 如何使用一張唱片的两份副本去操縱歇段。
• 隨著採樣器的發明，歇段如何成為 Hip Hop 及其他音樂中主要的一環。

Part B. Workshops 工作坊 （每個約15-20分鐘 15-20 mins each):

i. Introduction to Scratching Workshop 搓碟入門工作坊

In this workshop you will learn:

• What a turntable is and how it works.
• Learning the basics of hand control and how to count music.
• Basic scratches and how to link them together.
• Do your own scratch freestyle.

在這講座中你將學會：

• 黑膠唱盤是什麼和它的運作原理。
• 學習基本手動操控和數拍子。
• 基本捽碟和連結的方法。
• 進行捽碟的隨興創作。

DJ Fu, is a well-recognised Hip Hop DJ in Hong Kong, having held down a residency at Frank’s since their opening. Fu worked as a scratch DJ alongside Beardyman, Jungle Drummer, Rodney P & Barry Ashworth, and the Dub Pistols, to name a few. Fu’s scratching has also been featured on films, as well as in the computer game DJ Hero and in product demos for Pioneer.

DJ Fu 是香港知名的 Hip-Hop DJ，自 Frank’s 開業以來一直擔任駐場嘉賓。 Fu 曾與 Beardyman、Jungle Drummer、Rodney P & Barry Ashworth 和 Dub Pistols 一起擔任搓碟 DJ。 Fu 的搓碟也出現在電影、電腦遊戲 DJ Hero 和 Pioneer 的產品演示中。

ii. Introduction to Handstyle Handstyle入門工作坊

In this workshop you will learn:

• How to develop your own handstyle.
• Chisel tip markers technique sharing
• Learning the basic idea of a tag.
• Explore every stroke of an alphabet, and create your own style.

在這講座中你將學會：

• 如何開發自己的handstyle。
• Chisel tip 馬克筆的應用技巧。
• Tagging的基本概念。
• 探索字母的一筆一劃，創造你自己的風格。

Boms is a graffiti writer working in Hong Kong. Starting out in his early practice with acrylic on canvas, Boms strayed away from the traditional medium after discovering street dancing and hip-hop at the age of 17. It was through the local hip-hop scene that he was exposed to graffiti art for the first time, and its down-to-earth power in capturing city dwellers’ attention with bursts of creativity soon also captured his artistic imagination. He started to devote himself to spray-painting murals and is now one of Hong Kong’s most recognizable street artists.

Boms是一名在香港工作的塗鴉作家。 從早期塑膠彩繪畫轉至非傳統媒介—塗鴉創作，皆因他在 17 歲初次接觸了本地的街舞和嘻哈音樂。它們貼近生活的力量和迸發的創造力抓住了城市人的注意力，也抓住了Boms的想像力。他開始致力於噴繪壁畫，現在已是香港最知名的街頭藝術家之一。
